Bungee Trampolining – Get Your Party Jumping!

Bungee jumping has been around a while now, and is becoming more popular. Nobody seems to be able to agree about whether or not it’s a true sport, but it’s hard to deny that certainly is an extreme form of recreation. Anyone who does a bungee jump does so knowing that they may well be risking both life and limb. But if you’d like the thrill without quite so much risk, then bungee trampolining may be just what you’re looking for.

There comes a day when the kids are a bit too big for a bounce house at their party, or perhaps you want to entertain a group of adults. That’s where the bungee trampoline comes in. Mind you, this exciting pastime isn’t just restricted to private parties any more – giant sized trampolines are beginning to show up at carnivals, theme parks and even shopping centers. It doesn’t matter where it is, a bungee trampoline certainly will give anyone a thrill if they’re brave enough to have a go.

Basically, a bungee trampoline is basically a regular trampoline and some bungee jumping apparatus combined together. Two tall poles are attached to the side of a standard trampoline, and the bungee cords are attached to the tops of the poles. The jumper climbs into a bungee harness that is positioned in the center of the trampoline, with the harness attached to the bungee cords. Then the jumper starts to bounce on the trampoline, just the same as you would on any standard trampoline. The technician supervising the jumper gradually tightens the bungee cords, so that the jumper experiences more push when jumping.

The result is that the person can jump a great deal higher than normal on the trampoline. Recent bungee trampoline designs even allow the jumper to perform tricks as they bounce up into the air. It’s still only possible to do simple rotations and spins, but it still makes the whole experience a lot more exciting than just jumping up and down. If you’re looking for something fun and exciting to have at your next party, then take a look at hiring a bungee trampoline. The only hard part will be keeping things under control, because everyone will want a go!

How a Bungee Trampoline Works

How a Bungee Trampoline Works

by Jason Gluckman

Bungee jumping became increasingly popular in the past decade, as “extreme sports” captured the public’s attention. An offshoot of this phenomenon is the bungee trampoline.

Parents will be comforted to know that, especially under the supervision of a camp counselor or a professional recreation center, bungee trampolines are often quite safe. Indeed, the fact that atrampoline is below the participant ensures far greater safety than traditional bungee jumping.

A bungee trampoline allows you to jump over ten meters into the air, so you can literally have a bird’s-eye view of the world. It consists of a support structure with elevated steel arms. The rider is strapped into a harness, which is suspended between two of the arms by bungee cords that catapult the rider into the air.

There can be more than one trampoline in a jumping station, allowing four to six riders to jump simultaneously. The contraption needs a 110/230 volts/10 amperes electrical outlet to run.

When the rider is shot into air, the unique purpose-built elastics come into play, taking the kinetic energy in the downward jump and converting it into an upwardly propelling force both increasing the jumper’s power and stabilizing the jump, giving more height and airtime to perform backward and forward flips. This was previously impossible without years of training on a regular trampoline.

Bungee trampoline rides have gained tremendous popularity the world over, particularly in amusement parks and malls.

Bungee Trampolines: Discover New Heights

by Carl Walker

Trampoline jumping has literally been taken to new heights with the launch of a gravity-defying, adrenaline-pumping sport known as bungee trampoline, introduced by the world of extreme sports. In bungee trampoline, the jumper has an adjustable harness attached to the waist, connected to bungee ropes on both sides. This allows various types of somersaults and other airborne aerobics as the jumper is catapulted up to 12 to 14 meters in the air.

Bungee trampolines can be set up on almost any high footfall outdoor or indoor locations such as amusement parks, beaches, swimming pools, summer camps, schools, festivals, acrobatic training centers, water parks, gymnasiums, etc.

Most Bungee Trampolines are built from high quality materials such as aluminum and stainless steel and should fulfill certain safety standards and regulations. Anyone who weighs between 45 to 200 pounds can comfortably participate in a bungee trampoline jumping. Experience is not needed except for extreme stunts and aerobics, which should never be attempted without the supervision of a professional. Another advantage with bungee trampoline jumping is that even people with certain physical disabilities can take part because the harness attached to the waist makes it much safer than conventional trampolines.

A single jumping unit may have more than one trampoline which allows multiple jumpers to use the bungee trampoline at the same time. However, there are also bungee trampolines designed for only one person at a time. Most of the bungee trampolines used today come with a client control apparatus, using a counter and a timer which can be easily operated by a single person. Recommended power supply for bungee trampolines is 110 or 230 volts and 10 amperes electrical outlet.

There are several models, types, and designs of bungee trampolines. Some of them have been modified to make the jumps more exciting and thrilling. For example, Forest Maxi Bungy Trampoline, captioned “Maxi bungee trampoline fly in the trees” (maxi-trampoline.com) features a harness and elastic system which is connected to natural trees from 5 meters to 20 meters high construction. Participants (5 years and older, adults below 200 lbs.) can jump up to 20 meters and land on their feet in the middle of the trampoline. 230 volts or 110 volts is the average supply of power used by this bungee trampoline.

An example of a four person bungee trampoline:

Camp Cayuga (campcayuga.com), a private coed residential summer camp in Honesdale, Pennsylvania has introduced what it called the Big “Trampoline Thing”, as a part of its extreme jumping sports program. This is the basic configuration of the bungee trampoline:

A large rig combines a trampoline system with a bungee cord system. The rig features 4 separate trampolines, so 4 people can be accommodated at one time. The patented Bungee Cord System includes a hydraulic lift that automatically readjusts the height settings on the rig as participants jump higher. With this safety feature, the bungee cord cannot be over-stretched while jumping, and catapult the jumper up to 24 feet in the air.

Bungee Trampoline jumping, like the regular bungee jumping, should be approached with caution because it can result in injuries like sprains, fractures, scrapes, bruises and cuts, or serious injuries to the head and neck which can cause paralysis, or even death. Children should always be supervised by adults, and inexperienced adult jumpers should seek the help of instructors or professionals.

Bungee Trampoline

A Bungee Trampoline Can Liven Up Even the Dullest of Parties!

Bungee jumping has been around for several years now. There is, of course, still debate about whether or not it is actually a sport, but even its harshest critics agree that it is certainly extreme.  While most people who engage in bungee jumping do so with the knowledge that they may be risking life and limb, you can now enjoy some of the gravity-defying aspects of bungee jumping without much possibility of getting hurt.

Entering as a party staple for children and adults who have outgrown the bounce house, the bungee trampoline is for those who want to add a little spice to their next gathering. It does not stop there however, as giant sized trampolines have been sighted across the United States at theme parks and carnivals. No matter where they show up, the bungee trampoline certainly provides an enjoyable time for whoever is brave enough to give it a try.

A bungee trampoline is somewhat of a hybrid between a regular trampoline and bungee jumping apparatus. You essentially take a run of the mill trampoline and attach two tall poles to the sides of it. From the poles you have several bungee cords attached to a harness firmly positioned in the center of the trampoline. The person who wishes to use the bungee trampoline gets strapped into the harness and begins to jump up and down like one would on a standard trampoline. At a certain point, the bungee cords begin to tighten up and provide more push on the jumper as he or she jumps.

This allows someone on the bungee to jump much higher than they would be able to on a normal trampoline. Some recent models of bungee trampoline also allow the users to perform tricks while they are in the air.  These tricks are generally limited to simple spins and rotations, but nonetheless they add a whole new dimension to the trampoline experience.  If you are looking for the next big thing to have at your child’s party or any other event at your house, think of the trampoline as a surefire way to impress your guests.
